Dorota Wójcik is an absolute musical phenomenon, having under her belt decades of operatic career, she is still at her vocal peak. She is a multifaceted, versatile soprano, of the Joan Sutherland’s kind.
She excels in belcanto coloratura roles, including Gilda, Lucrezia Borgia, and Violetta; she is a true diva in more frivolous operetta roles (A Night in Venice); she embodies vocal lyricism (Rusalka); she successfully ventures in spinto roles, such as Tatiana in Eugene Onegin, and surpasses other singers as Halka, a more dramatic soprano role. Her voice easily cuts through the orchestra while maintaining suave lyrical quality in all masterfully commanded vocal registers.
